Cronulla Railway Station

Tonkin Street Noise Wall
This project arose as a result of track duplication at Cronulla Railway Station to allow for an increase in the number of trains in peak hours. The installation of noise walls was required to mitigate noise from the rail corridor; provide some visual amenity to surrounding residential streets; and to be sympathetic to the heritage railway station. Tonkin Street noise wall was designed and displays strong Art Deco architectural features in the use of banded brickwork, to enhance the existing character of the Cronulla Station building.
