TAFE Photographic Laboratory

The firm was engaged to design a state of the art digital photgraphic studio and traditional photographic processing laboratory and teaching facility within an existing heritage listed building on the Hornsby TAFE campus. The layout features tow digital studios for the training of up to 40 students. These romms are linked to printer rooms for the production of the artwork. The photographic laboratory contains separate spaces for negative processing and also for the development of prints in a traditional darkroom. Also contained within the facility is a professional photographic studio, complete with lighting rigs, blockout shutters to the windows, pin-up backdrop, and white-washed coved corners to eliminate lines of perspective during the photo shoot. The facility also utilises the corridor space as aplace of exhibition for the students.
