Centrelink are in the process of upgrading over 100 sites throughout the state with new corporate image and improved zoned security arrangements. At present CCG has designed and managed refurbishments at Wallsend, Nelson Bay, Leichhardt and has recently completed the Customer Service Centre at Orange. With aesthetics and function in mind, the design of the centre takes the security and safety of the staff as the highest priority, with distinct staff only egress paths as well as restricted zones incorporated within the design. In addition, the refurbishment ensures improved way finding for customers by creating a light, transparent and open environment that is essential to the new branding of the Centrelink offices, and allows for flexibility and adaptability of new services and staff. The construction process for Centrelink refurbishments is unique in the heavily compressed program of work. Office and customer services commence throughout the construction period with all works being completed in stages over weekends and out of hours.
